Tea pot cake, cup cakes and choclate cup and saucer by Frances Cooley of Clifton Cakes, Bristol. Flowers in teapot and cup by Sue Pratt of Farm Flowers
The pictures on my website are from my wedding at Hatswell Meadows in March 2010. The idea for a vintage wedding tea came from a present that my husband gave me, 'Tea at the Ritz' in London; and I wanted to replicate that experience. I felt that the venue lent itself to a tea party and helped make our experience a relaxed affair, one which all our guests could enjoy. Once I had designed the table and bought the tea services I set about replicating our theme 'hearts' throughout the venue whilst trying to make each room individual in style. For example, I collected all the dried rose petals from roses given to me by Clive and used them to decorate the mantlepiece and window ledges at the venue, bought lights to decorate the mantlepiece, made candles in tea cups and worked with our florist to design flower arrangements in cups, made homemade jams and marmalades for our favours, and bunting, to name just a few ideas.
The beauty of hiring me is that I can take the stress out of your wedding plans helping you both to relax and enjoy your day. I can transform the venue incorporating your themes and choices. I live thirty minutes away from Hatswell Meadows, in Taunton, Somerset. You can visit me on your way to/from Hatswell to go through your wedding themes/ideas or alternatively I can meet you at the venue.
I am only accepting bookings between April and October for 2011 and from May 2012 onwards. The owners of Hatswell Meadows, Clive and Wendy can give you references as to the standard of my work as can Dianne Weston, one of the suggested caterers at Hatswell Meadows.
Whatever you choose, an individually themed vintage tea will be a fabulous way to celebrate your wedding at Hatswell Meadows OR and celebratory occassion in a venue to suit you.
